Premier members Dine in the Dark in support of Bradbury Fields

On Friday 4th September Premier members attended the Bradbury Fields Dine in the Dark event at Boxpark. In addition to purchasing tickets and being part of the evening, key event sponsorship came from Premier Networking members. As the charity seat for Central and Skyline, Bradbury Fields were incredibly grateful for this support.

As the evening unfolded, we were welcomed by Matt Cliff, the charity’s CEO, and learned more about Bradbury Fields and the support it provides to blind and partially sighted people across Liverpool.

We pulled on our eye masks as the starters were served and immersed ourselves in a world where we could not see the food in front of us. We began to experience what it is like to eat a meal with no sight to guide us. We took on the challenge of eating dumplings, a cheeseburger and chips, followed by a strawberry dessert with churros. Even getting our drinks safely back onto the table was a challenge when we could not see where to place them! We also learned organising a group of people to line up in age order whilst blindfolded is no easy task!

Events like this support a much-needed local charity while also raising awareness and understanding. Putting ourselves in someone else’s shoes helps us appreciate the challenges they face and recognise the small actions we can take to make a meaningful difference. This event allowed us to do this whilst also having a brilliant evening!
